Village at Griesbach site in Edmonton selected for the Federal Lands Initiative for affordable housing
Led by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) with support from Public Services and Procurement Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada and Canada Lands Company, the FLI is a $200-million fund that supports the transfer of surplus federal lands to eligible proponents to create affordable housing.
Proponents that have an interest in acquiring the site for an affordable housing project are invited to review the criteria and submit a Request for Interest.
Since 1995, Canada Lands Company has facilitated the creation of more than 1,900 affordable housing units across the country. The site at the Village at Griesbach is the Company’s fourth site to be part of the FLI, along with Wateridge Village in Ottawa and two sites located in Pleasantville in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
