Kaye has been involved in social policy, land use and real estate development for over 35 years. She has held executive positions in both the private, public and non-profit sectors, including Greater Victoria Housing Society and the Government of British Columbia.  Kaye also held a number of board and governance positions including chair of a municipal planning commission, chair of the Board of BC Housing Management Commission, chair of Ready to Rent BC, member of the Board of Tofino Housing Corporation and elected positions for sector and professional associations (BC Non-Profit Housing Association, Canadian Housing and Renewal Association and the Planning Institute of British Columbia).

In 2019 she was awarded the Denise LeBlond Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication and vision to furthering the cause of affordable housing in British Columbia.
