A jewel in Toronto, Downsview Park offers something for everyone.

Downsview has played various pivotal roles throughout Toronto’s history.

Following the closure of Canadian Forces Base Toronto in 1995, the land was transitioned into two separate but complementary parcels: Downsview Park and Downsview Lands.

Today, the Park spans 118 hectares (291 acres). It is one of the largest urban parks in Toronto and sits atop one of the city's highest points of land. The active areas of the Park include a range of commercial, recreation and education-based institutions.

As owner, Canada Lands is overseeing Downsview Park’s operations and continuous growth. Since the Park’s official opening in 2012, it has become a dynamic urban green space in which active and passive elements are combined for the enjoyment of all visitors. The Park is one of the greatest examples of Canada Lands’ commitment to sustainability. Construction of a new urban farm at the south end of the Park is almost complete. Covering an area of four hectares (10 acres), the farm will be one of the largest in the country.

Downsview Park is home to many naturalized areas including the Lake, Pond, Meadow, Urban Forest and the Mound. The areas offer space for families, groups and individuals to enjoy some of Toronto’s best leisure and recreational space.

Discovery Centre

Play

A park is not a park without PLAY! Walk, run or bike along the Circuit Path, swing, jump and climb in the Play Zone, pass and shoot at the soccer nets, and let the dogs run free at the off-leash Dogsview Park.

Farming & Agriculture

Downsview Park is home to variety of agriculture lands including the Orchard, greenhouses and two farms. The urban farm is one of the largest in Canada.
