Appointment of New Chair to the Board of Directors of Canada Lands Company Limited

Ottawa, Ontario, November 14, 2001 -- The Honourable Alfonso Gagliano, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister responsible for Canada Lands Company, today announced the appointment, effective November 15, 2001, of Mr. Marc Rochon as Chair of the Board of Directors of Canada Lands Company Limited.

Mr. Rochon served as President of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation from 1995 to 2000. Prior to that, he served in several senior positions within the Canadian Government, including Senior Councillor at the Privy Council Office and Deputy Minister at the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Department of Communications. His extremely diversified career within the Canadian Government has given him a wide range of experience in such areas as corporate governance and social policy issues.
