Re-Appointment to Canada Lands Company Limited
OTTAWA — The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the re-appointment of Mr. Marc Rochon for a two-year term as chair of the Canada Lands Company Limited (Canada Lands).
"I am pleased to announce the re-appointment of Mr. Rochon," said Minister Cannon. "His prior experience as chair of Canada Lands, and in public administration, will continue to benefit the company."
Mr. Rochon holds a bachelor's degree in theology from the University of Ottawa, and a diploma from the École nationale d'administration in Paris, France. He was first appointed chair of Canada Lands in 2001. From 1995 to 2000, he was president of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Beginning in 1968, he served in a number of federal government departments, holding increasingly senior positions, including: Undersecretary of State, at the department of Secretary of State; Deputy Minister, department of Communications; Deputy Minister, department of Canadian Heritage; Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet (senior personnel), and Special Advisor, Privy Council Office.
Canada Lands Company Limited is a Crown corporation created by the Government of Canada with a mandate to ensure the commercially oriented, orderly disposition of selected surplus federal real properties with optimal financial and community values to Canadians, and the holding of certain properties.
