Tunney's Pasture

Canada Lands and Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) are working together to find innovative ways to address underutilized federal sites such as the Tunney’s Pasture campus.

The site is 49 hectares (121 acres) and is bounded by the Kichi Zībī Mīkan Parkway to the north, Parkdale Avenue to the east, Scott Street to the south and the Champlain Park community to the west. There are nearly 20 buildings on the campus, which include offices of Health Canada, National Resources Canada and the Department of National Defence.

In 2014, the National Capital Commission finalized and endorsed the Tunney’s Pasture Master Plan (TPMP) for incorporation into the City of Ottawa’s Official Plan, following a public engagement process led by PSPC. The TPMP will guide the campus’ redevelopment into a sustainable, transit-oriented and mixed-use community. 

The two organizations are working with the City of Ottawa to secure planning approvals and implement infrastructure upgrades for this site. Canada Lands will be responsible for upgrading the infrastructure and the development of the surplus land identified and PSPC will be responsible for its federal footprint.
